The Look That Men Find Most Attractive

Well this is refreshing: It turns out, both men and women find women more attractive when they have less makeup on, according to a new study published in The Quarterly Journal of Experimental Psychology.

For the study, researchers recruited 44 women to model for photographs. They presented the models with a wide range of makeup and asked them to apply it as if they were going out for the night. The models were photographed pre- and post-makeup application.

Then these photos were altered to create 21 pictures of each woman with various amounts of makeup on and presented to 44 observers (22 male, 22 female). The observer could move through the images smoothly, seeing a gradual increase and decrease in makeup. Then they were asked to choose which version of each woman was the most attractive to them, which version they thought would be the most attractive to men, and which version they thought would be most attractive to women.

Interestingly, women preferred a bit more makeup than men did (but not much). But here's the major news: The models put on over 30 percent moremakeup than any observer found attractive, which was also more than what any observer thought others would find attractive. So chances are, you're overdoing it on the makeup front.

Both men and women thought that other people would prefer more makeup than they themselves preferred—so apparently, we think we're in the minority if we prefer a more natural look. And both sexes assumed that men would prefer more makeup than the women would; in reality, the opposite was true.

Well, there it is—when it comes to makeup, less really is more. So, if you're piling on products to please anyone other than yourself, you might want to use that old jewelry trick and take one thing off before you leave the house.

How to Get Long Hair ASAP

Pixie cuts, bobs and shoulder length hair can perfectly frame a face, but when it comes time to grow out strands for a new style, the wait can be a long one. we’ve got the 411 on how to get long hair. Read on for the fastest way to grow your tresses, sans extensions.
Adjust Your Diet
“A healthy diet that incorporates a mix of protein and nutrients can improve the condition of your hair,” says Celebrity Hairstylist and NYC Salon Owner Julien Farel. He explains that balanced eating keeps follicles strong and hair from breaking easily. Dr. Gervaise Gerstner, MD, a board-certified NYC Cosmetic & Medical Dermatologist, advises to incorporate omega-3 oils. “I recommend salmon or supplements. Nuts are a good source, too, especially almonds.”
…But Don’t Over Do It
Dr. Gerstner says it’s important to keep weight stable and not yo-yo diet, as hair can be affected by extreme regimen changes, in addition to stress and hormone levels.
Get Smart About Styling
It’s well known that heat can hurt hair, so limiting the use of a flat iron to three times a week is best, says Dr. Gerstner. She also advises the limitation of sunlight (as it can strip the hair) and blow drying, adding, “A weekly deep conditioner masque is a good idea to keep hair as healthy as possible.” According to Farel, many hair care products include the same ingredients as detergents, so it is vital to choose wisely.
Try Vitamins and Conditioning Ingredients
“Phytantriol, arginine and fish oil, and biotin aid in the production of enzymes and hormones which can help stimulate hair growth,” says Farel, who suggests his “hero” product: Julien Farel Haircare Restore. The cleanse-treat-condition formula is designed to push regenerating anti-aging ingredients, like hyaluronic acid, deeper into the follicle, scalp and hair, which helps prolong the hair’s growth phase.
Dr. Gerstner recommends the use of supplements like Viviscal, which include biotin, vitamin C, and a special complex of shark powder known as AminoMar, to help aid hair growth and scalp stimulation.
Take It Easy
Because stress can affect hair, Dr. Gerstner recommends weekly deep tissue massages to relax body and mind. “The adrenals pump out extra cortisol when we are stressed, which leads to acne, skin inflammation, and possible hair disorders,” she says.
Or, you can always take some time off. “Your hair is a reflection of how you feel,” says Farel. “If you are healthy, or on vacation, your hair looks great, shiny and is easy to style.”

SHOCKING: How Ex-Army chief Ihejirika and Ex-Gov Modu Sheriff sponsored Boko Haram_ Falana

Yesterday, a former governor of Borno state, Mr. Modu Sheriff addressed a press conference at Abuja where he attempted to play on the collective intelligence of Nigerians by denying any link with the dreaded Boko Haram sect. He was apparently reacting to his indictment by Rev Stephen Davis, the international negotiator engaged by the federal government to dialogue with the Boko Haram sect to secure the release of the abducted Chibok girls. In his press conference Mr. Sheriff claimed that he only met the late Mohammed Yussuf, the leader of the Boko Haram sect after he had been arrested by the army.

As the Chief Security Officer in Borno State at the material time the ex-governor should open up on the circumstances of the extra judicial killing of Muhammed Yusuff and his father-in-law, Alhaji Kuba. More importantly, Mr. Sheriff should explain to Nigerians the basis of the appointment of Alhaji Buji Foi, a boko haram leader as the Commissioner of Religious Affairs in Borno State. He resigned from the Sheriff government before joining the Boko Haram sect. He too was extra-judicially killed after his arrest by the soldiers. Before the revelation of Rev. Davis, the Goodluck Jonathan Administration had set up the Ambassador Usman Galtimari Panel to investigate the genesis of the insurgency in the North East.

The Presidential Panel found inter alia: “Findings The Report traced the origin of private militias in Borno State in particular, of which Boko Haram is an offshoot, to politicians who set them up in the run-up to the 2003 general elections. The militias were allegedly armed and used extensively as political thugs. After the elections and having achieved their primary purpose, the politicians left the militias to their fate since they could not continue funding and keeping them employed. With no visible means of sustenance, some of the militias gravitated towards religious extremism, the type offered by Mohammed Yusuf.

Nigeria’s ex-Army Chief Ihejirika and Governor Messrs Sheriff are Boko Haram Sponsors_Stephen Davis insist

Rights activists and lawyers have urged the Nigerian government to immediately investigate allegations by a government-appointed negotiator naming former Chief of Army Staff, Azubuike Ihejirika, and former governor of Borno State, Modu Sheriff, as chief sponsors of Islamist insurgent group, Boko Haram. The Australian hostage negotiator, Stephen Davis, who was helping the Nigerian government to secure the release of the over 200 girls kidnapped by Boko Haram militants, reaffirmed his earlier claim that Messrs Sheriff and Ihejirika, were top facilitators of sect that has been blamed for the death of over 4,000 Nigerians since it took up arms 2009. Mr. Davis spoke in an interview with New York-based Sahara Reporters.

Lanre Suraju, the Chairman of the anti-corruption group, the Civil Society Network Against Corruption, CSNAC, said the International Criminal Court, ICC, should be immediately invited to investigate the allegation and commence the prosecution of Messrs, Ihejirika and Sheriff immediately. He said the number of deaths attributed to Boko Haram in Nigeria qualifies the situation as genocide. He said the allegation was even more indicting as it was made by a government-appointed negotiator. He said Mr. Iherijika was merely trying to divert attention by accusing the former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nasri El-Rufai, of being a Boko Haram commander. He said the failure of Mr. Ihejirika to back the allegation with evidence, when he was the army chief, showed that he might be culpable of the allegation. Similarly, human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, said President Goodluck Jonathan should immediately refer those fingered to the Special Prosecutor of the ICC as any investigation undertaken by the government could be muddled by political interests. He also said that the government should not treat this allegation as it has treated previous allegations and findings on the sponsors of Boko Haram. “It would be recalled that the Ambassador Usman Galtimari Committeee on insurgency in the north east zone set up in 2011 by President Jonathan had recommended the prosecution of “some politicians who sponsored, funded and used the militia groups that later metamorphosed into Boko Haram.” In a White Paper issued on the report of the Committee the

Confusion as passenger slumps, dies at Lagos airport

There was confusion at the arrival hall of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Monday, as a passenger slumped and died.
Sources at the airport told our correspondent that the passenger slumped in front of the Port Health Services office on the ground floor, while waiting to collect his vaccination card, usually known as Yellow Card.
Some staff and passengers fled the scene following his collapse as they feared he was infected with the deadly Ebola Virus Disease.

His body was covered with an orange cloth and left unattended to by the office and the area was barricaded to forestall people from coming there, while people were redirected to take other routes.
Our correspondent gathered that the dead man was supposed to fly to Ghana for medical checkup when he suddenly collapsed at the airport and died.

It was also gathered that the passenger, who was of middle age may be of Igbo origin as a lady that was seen accompanying him before his sudden death was seen making calls to their relatives in Igbo language, telling them what happened.
The female relative of the dead man who was crying, was quoted as saying, “Ceekay please get up, Ceekay please get up”.

Meanwhile, a statement later released by the General Manager, Corporate Communications of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Mr. Yakubu Dati, gave the late passenger’s name as Mr. Akunne Osei.
It noted that the deceased was tested for the Ebola virus and the result later came in negative.

What measure do you think should be put in place to stop this?

Ebola: New Details Suggest Patrick Sawyer Escaped Quarantine In Liberia Before Heading To Nigeria

Patrick Sawyer
"Because he had contact with somebody who died from Ebola, he was quarantined in his own country, but he evaded the quarantine and came to Nigeria..."

Freesh information from Liberia suggests that the late Patrick Sawyer, the first man to die of Ebola in Nigeria, was in fact quarantined by Liberian health authorities prior to boarding a flight to Nigeria.

Patrick Sawyer of LiberiaABC 5THIS DAY reports that Liberian Minister of State II for Foreign Affairs, Sr. Nurudeen Mohammed, said that this information arose upon discussion of talks between PresidentJohnson-Sirleaf and Nigeria's Ambassador to Liberia, Chigozie Oby-Nadozie. Sawyer's sister had allegedly died of the virus before his trip to Nigeria, a tragedy that is said to have been his method of contracting the virus.

Vice President of ECOWAS, Dr. Toga Mcintosh, further confirmed that Sawyer did in fact flee medical watch placed upon him after his sister's reported death. At a briefing today, Mcintosh said "because he had contact with somebody who died from Ebola, he was quarantined in his own country, but he evaded the quarantine and came to Nigeria."

The minister encourages affected West African countries to come together to combat the crisis, rather than shuffle the responsibility.
Sawyer is reported to have acted erratically and looked sick on CCTV footage from Liberia's James Spriggs Payne airport in Monrovia, Liberia, raising security suspicion there. Despite this, he was allowed to fly out of the country.

25 pro-Amaechi lawmakers decamp to APC_PH now Fully APC

PORT HARCOURT—The 25 pro-Governor Rotimi Amaechi lawmakers in Rivers State, have dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for All Progressives Congress, APC, during the sitting of the state House of Assembly, yesterday, at the old auditorium of Government House, Port Harcourt.

Leader of the House, Mr. Chidi Lloyd, who announced their decision to decamp, said they had all ceased to be members of PDP.
He said: “The 25 pro-Amaechi lawmakers have asked me to declare our formal defection to APC. Henceforth, 25 of us should be referred to as APC members. We are telling the world today (yesterday) that we are all members of APC. All correspondence to us should describe us as APC members.”

Speaker of the House, Mr. Otelemaba Dan-Amachree, who presided over the sitting, directed that their action should be documented.
About 14 of them were present at the sitting.

The development came one year after the free for all amongst members of the House at the chamber of the Assembly complex on Moscow Road.
The House has since the incident been divided along the lines of pro and anti- Amaechi lawmakers.

Mr Evans Bipi is Speaker of the six anti-Amaechi lawmakers. They have continued to boycott every sitting of the pro-Amaechi lawmakers at the old auditorium of Government House, Port Harcourt.
Meanwhile, one of the pro-Amaechi lawmakers, Mr. Golden Chioma, who was kidnapped by gunmen, has been freed by his captors in the early hours of yesterday. It could not be confirmed if any ransom was paid for his release.

Jonathan has run out of ideas_ Buhari

Nigeria’s former military Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), has criticised President Goodluck Jonathan over the current spate of impeachments allegedly masterminded by his government against opposition governors across the country. Buhari was reacting to the impeachment of Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State and the impending impeachment of Governor Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa State (Both APC Governors). There are also strong rumours also that Edo Governor, Adams Oshiomhole and his Rivers State counterpart, Rotimi Amaechi, both of the APC, would be impeached, according to reports from Daily Sun. The national leader of the APC described the action of the ruling party as impunity and political rascality, warning that Nigerians had defeated impunity before and they would do so again.

According to Buhari, “what we are witnessing today, impunity and political rascality as demonstrated by the selective targeting and persecution of opposition politicians, is an attempt to subdue the will of Nigerians who have made clear their commitment to free their country from the grip of an incompetent leadership that is bent on severing the ties of nationhood and ruining whatever progress we have made as a country. “These actions portray a government that has run out of ideas, resorting to arbitrariness and executive criminality in order to silence dissent. Nigeria has been through this road before.

This is a replay of the selective persecution using instruments of federal might in an attempt by previous regimes to perpetuate themselves in power.” Buhari further stated that “these regimes are now history, subdued by the collective struggle of the Nigerian masses. It is only a matter of time before this administration joins its predecessors in the garbage bin of history. “Nigerians have defeated impunity before, and they have not relented in their determination to stamp it out in the future. The primary role of government is to fulfill its constitutional obligations to the citizenry and not go on a witch-hunting spree against the opposition and whoever dares to expose its lies and deceptions.”

President Jonathan's Re-election Bid May Break Nigeria_Igbokwe Declares

Less than nine months before Nigerians go to the polls to elect their president, incumbent president, Goodluck Jonathan has been urged to jettison his re-election bid.
Pro-democracy activist, Comrade Joe Igbokwe made this plead while addressing journalists in Lagos on Wednesday, 16 July, 2014, saying that Jonathan’s reelection ambition is not in the nation’s interest.
Igbokwe also stated that the harassment of the opposition, the Boko Haram insurgency and impeachment of opposition governors underscored the President’s desperation to retain power.
The activist said these are among incidents that put democracy under threat in Nigeria.
Igbokwe stressed that if the quest for power was anchored on good performance, Dr. Jonathan is unfit for a second term because his handling of national affairs had been tragic and disastrous.

The activist urged the President to respect the zoning in the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), adding that Jonathan’s plan to rule for 10 years may break up the country.
Igbokwe said: “Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, from the South ruled Nigeria for eight years. It was also expected that the late President Umaru Yar’Adua, from the North, would rule for eight years, all other things being equal. But he died after two years in office. President Jonathan, Yar’Adua’s erstwhile vice-president from the South, took over the mantle of leadership. It was expected that he would complete the first term of Yar’Adua’s tenure and step aside for the North to complete their eight years.

Against protests from the North, Jonathan sought another term and got elected. By 2015, he would have ruled for six years. Seeking another term of four years will endanger our polity and create ethnic and religious tension, as we are witnessing now. We are in a democracy and, if we are still one country, there is need for equity and justice. Jonathan’s ambition to rule Nigeria for 10 years may break Nigeria.”
The activist accused the Federal Government for waging war against the All Progressives Congress (APC) in order to make the PDP retain power.
It could be noted that President Jonathan has not declared his ambition for a re-election, but individuals and partisan groups have endorsed him for a second term and are urging him to publicly declare his interest.

Sudanese Woman Sentenced To Death For Marrying A Christian Regains Freedom

Meriam Ibrahim and husband, Daniel Wani
A Sudanese court has upturned the death-by-hanging sentence passed on Meriam Ibrahim, 27, for marrying a Christian against the wish of his Islam-biased family.
Meriam, who was sentenced to death for marrying a Christian, was also sentenced to receiving 100 lashes of the cane, while her marriage was pronounced dissolved.
The conviction in May sparked global outrage, and SUNA News Agency — Sudan’s official state news agency — confirmed on Monday that the ordered 27-year-old will be freed after her case sparked outrage around the world.

“The appeal court ordered the release of Meriam Yahya and the cancelation of the (previous) court ruling”, the agency stated.
Meriam was pregnant at the time her death sentence was delivered, and she put to bed in prison with her legs chained, following her insistence never to renounce her Christian faith within a four-day ultimatum she received.
In early June, there was news that she her execution will be delayed for two years for her to nurse the baby. But the government subsequently promised her husband, Daniel Wani, that his wife would be released.

Meriam had been imprisoned with her 20-month-old son. Visitors were originally not allowed to see her. But when her husband finally saw her, he said she was shackled and had swollen legs, while she was denied ital medical treatment, including transfer to a hospital even though she was 8 months into a difficult pregnancy.

Breaking news|| Boko Haram takes over Borno villages, kills 9, hoists flag

Boko Haram has become Nigeria’s biggest security challenge

The insurgents hoisted their flag in one of local government wards.
Gunmen suspected to be members of the Boko Haram terror group on Monday attacked various communities around the rocky mountains of Gwoza town of Borno State killing nine villagers and setting ablaze houses and churches in the area, residents and a public official said.

The insurgents also hoisted their flags in Ashigashiya ward of Gwoza Local Government Area and are currently celebrating in the area which they have now declared their headquarters.

Sources from Gwoza hills said apart from the nine people killed, several others were left with serious bullet injuries as fleeing residents now take refuge on tall rocky hills.
A local government official, Nglamuda Ibrahim, who spoke to journalists in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, said his displaced people have since Monday night been calling for help.
He said residents, from their hideout on the hills, have spotted the gunmen who are preparing to launch another attack on them.

“As we speak now, I am still receiving distress calls from them, they were all crying and calling for help; no soldier or police official had gone there yet.
“The Boko Haram gunmen mounted their flags in Ashigashiya which is now like their headquarters,” he said.

“In last night’s attack, six churches were burnt, eight persons were killed and several others seriously injured. We cannot count the number of houses that were burnt in Chinene village of Chikide-Joghode-Kaghum ward,” said Mr. Ibrahim. “They also attacked Amuda village where one person was killed and several others injured”.
Villagers still in danger

The official expressed worries that the villagers, who are held up in the rocky mountains, may be in danger because as soon as the gunmen find a way, they would attack them.

He added that “currently, as I am talking to you now, the insurgents have mobilised at Izhaghathagwa mountain, planning on how to finish (kill) our people; that is why they have been calling for help before the gunmen climb up to them.”

He listed the names of some of those killed in Chinene village as Bulama Dajiba, Bulama John, Haruna Wadda, Bitrus Kurma, Haruna Kwatha, Haruna Waruda, and Shaibu Galva.
“We are calling on the military authorities in the state to quickly go up there and help us rescue those poor villagers, their wives and children before the imminent danger of the gunmen attack caught them up in the mountains,” he said. “We have a detachment of soldiers that were deployed to Gwoza but none of them cares to go behind the mountains, even though everyone hears the sound of the shootings there”.

A top security personnel confirmed the incident to PREMIUM TIMES and other journalists in Maiduguri.
The source who did not want to be named in this report as he is not authorised to speak with journalists said “we all have received the report from Chinene village. It was really another sad episode there”.
He added that the hoisting of flag in Ashigashiya happened since three weeks ago, and said he was surprised that security forces have not moved to the area.

The Boko Haram has killed over 12,000 people in Northern Nigeria since an insurgency that began in 2009.
The group is also responsible for the kidnap of over 250 teenage female students of the Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State.

Boko Haram Blows Up Another Bridge

By SaharaReporters, New York
Suspected members of Islamist terror group, Boko Haram, yesterday blew up another bridge that links Borno and Adamawa States, according to a Nigerian military source as well as residents in the area.
The sources said members of the insurgent sect have continued their rampage in isolated towns in the northeast. Yesterday, Boko Haram militants also attacked residents of Limankara community in Gwoza local government area of Borno State, burning more than 300 houses. Limankara is in the southern part of Borno State, about 147 kilometers from Maiduguri.

A source in the town said the residence of the district head of Limankara was one of the homes burnt down by the rampaging insurgents. The district head is the father of the Borno State Commissioner of Trade and Commerce.
One resident, Titus Musa, said the insurgents took away his car. He added that they also hauled away “over three thousands bags of foodstuffs and 10 vehicles.” Another source in the community said the Boko Haram members torched a church belonging to the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN).

“We are helpless,” one of the residents said. “We don't deserve this. Let the government do something fast about these demons before they finish [off] our generations.”

Last Monday, Boko Haram insurgents abducted eight teenagers from Waranbe community. Our military source said the insurgents had taken over the town of Gworza and its surrounding areas.

What is ISLAM? || Council of Islamic Ideology declares women’s existence anti-Islamic

Islamabad - Sharia Correspondent: The Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) concluded their 192nd meeting on Thursday with the ruling that women are un-Islamic and that their mere existence contradicted Sharia and the will of Allah. As the meeting concluded CII Chairman Maulana Muhammad Khan Shirani noted that women by existing defied the laws of nature, and to protect Islam and the Sharia women should be forced to stop existing as soon as possible. The announcement comes a couple of days after CII’s 191st meeting where they dubbed laws related to minimum marriage age to be un-Islamic.

After declaring women to be un-Islamic, Shirani explained that there were actually two kinds of women – haraam and makrooh. “We can divide all women in the world into two distinct categories: those who are haraam and those who are makrooh. Now the difference between haraam and makrooh is that the former is categorically forbidden while the latter is really really disliked,” Shirani said.

He further went on to explain how the women around the world can ensure that they get promoted to being makrooh, from just being downright haraam. “Any woman that exercises her will is haraam, absolutely haraam, and is conspiring against Islam and the Ummah, whereas those women who are totally subservient can reach the status of being makrooh. Such is the generosity of our ideology and such is the endeavour of Muslim men like us who are the true torchbearers of gender equality,” the CII chairman added.

Officials told Khabaristan Today that the council members deliberated over various historic references related to women and concluded that each woman is a source of fitna and a perpetual enemy of Islam. They also decided that by restricting them to their subordinate, bordering on slave status, the momineen and the mujahideen can ensure that Islam continues to be the religion of peace, prosperity and gender equality.

Genevieve Nnaji Told CNN about Pres. Jonathan And The Chibok Girls

Here is a thrilling interview between Max Foster and Genevieve ,Listen to what she said and drop your coment

Max Foster: Genevieve Nnaji is an actress, model and singer who has been raising awareness on the #BringBackOurGirls campaign. She told me they won't stop till the missing girls are found. Take a listen.

Genevieve: Everyone is involved. We are all mothers, we are all humans and these are young girls
that have been taken into captivity and uh.... we just felt that as.. some of us who have a bigger face and more recognizable in terms of being celebrities and having a large fan base, we thought it's our responsibility to help shed light and bring the fight to the forefront and stop this inhumane act.

Max Foster: There's been some criticism of the authorities in Nigeria that they were slow to react to this. What's your reading into that?

Genevieve: Um, for me I think it would be unfair to say our government was slow to react because no one knew whether they reacted or not. The thing is we weren't told, that's the problem, we didn't know if they were aware of the situation or not. So, the major problem people are having is that lack of communication between the government and the people.
We just wanted them to, at least, react to us. And make it aware to our knowledge that they know what was going on, we knew there was a problem at hand, its just that lack of communication.

Max Foster: Has it improved now?

Genevieve: Well, it has improved a whole lot, Now we can see things being put in place, now we can see the efforts being made and again, that will be credited to the noise that has been made, towards the campaigning that's been made around the world, you know, the global community having an interest in this. So, we are grateful for all the attention. What it has done is create hope in a situation that seemed hopeless in the beginning.

Chibok: American Marines locate abducted girls in Sambisa forest

There were indications yesterday that the 230 female students abducted by Boko Haram terrorists from the Government Girls' Secondary School, GGSS, Chibok, Borno State, have been sited at the Sambisa
Forest in Borno State, by the Special Forces of the United States Marines.

The girls, who were abducted on April 14, were part of the 250 students boarded at the school for the West African School Certificate, WASC/ Senior Secondary School Certificate, SSSC, examinations, triggering world-wide condemnations.
This was even as more US military officials arrived Nigeria yesterday to join local officials in the search for nearly 300 school girls taken captives by the Islamist extremist group, Boko Haram, the US Secretary of State John Kerry, and the defence department, Pentagon, said.

The UK team had earlier arrived in Abuja to support Nigerian government in its response to the abduction of over 200 school girls.
The arrival of the foreign troops is coming on the heels of the appeal yesterday by the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar for Nigerians to unite and fight the insurgents to achieve success.

According to Kerry, "Our inter-agency team is hitting the ground in Nigeria now and they are going to be working with President Goodluck Jonathan's government to do everything that we possibly can to return these girls."
The CNN also quoted the U.S. Navy Rear Admiral, John Kirby, who serves as Pentagon press secretary, as saying that the small team of seven would join advisers supporting local efforts to find the girls abducted over three weeks ago.

Kerry said the US team, working with the Nigerian government, would do everything possible to free the girls and everything possible to stop the atrocities of Boko Haram.
"We are also going to do everything possible to counter the menace of Boko Haram. The entire world should not only be condemning this outrage but should be doing everything possible to help Nigeria in the days ahead," he added.

But there are no plans to send American combat troops into Nigeria, Mr. Kirby said.
The abduction of the school girls on April 14 in a remote community in Borno State, one of the most shocking terrorist acts by Boko Haram yet, has drawn widespread anger around the world with calls for a swift action.

President Goodluck Jonathan said Thursday that the kidnapping will be "the beginning of end" of Boko Haram.
US President Obama has said he hopes the abduction by Boko Haram will galvanize the international community to act against the brutal group that has directed much of its cruelty on civilians and the innocent. Marines-arrest
This week, more than 100 people were killed in a busy market by militants suspected to be from the group. The attack occurred in Gamboru Ngala, Borno State, near the Nigerian border with Cameroun.

US MARINES CARRY OUT FIRST ARRESTS OF TWO BOKO HARAM MEMBERS IN BENUE STATE.

US Marines currently in Nigeria to help the government combat Boko Haram terrorists have made their first arrests taking two male suspects into custody after they were found in possession of arms and ammunition during a targeted search.

Over the last week, US Marines have arrived in Nigeria to help with the fight against terrorism after Boko Haram took their war of terror to another level by abducting 234 pupils from Government Girls Secondary School Chibok in Borno State. Acknowledging that the matter was getting beyond its control, the Nigerian government swallowed its pride and accepted outside help.
With the abduction coming at a time when Nigeria is hosting World Economic Forum on Africa and inbetween two horrific bomb blasts in Abuja, there has been a lot of international offer of support. France, the UK, the US and China have all offered differing degrees of support in the form of intelligence, training and military assistance.

Since Wednesday, US troops have arrived in Nigeria where they are providing security for the WEF summit on Africa. It is expected that the Marines will also join Nigerian soldiers in pursuing Boko Haram into the Sambisa Forest in Borno State where they are believed to have spirited the kidnapped girls to.
According to Major General Chris Olukolade, Nigeria's director of defence in¬formation, two suspected Boko Haram members were arrested at Any¬ibe in Logo Local Gov¬ernment Area of Benue State. He added that the duo, made up of a teenager and an elderly man, were arrested during a cordon-and-search operation and found to be in possession of firearms.

Weapons found in their possession included two rifles, three locally fabricated pistols and 61 rounds of special ammunition. Apparently, the arms were found in the possession of the teenager he is currently undergoing interrogation in custody.

US marines are highly specialised soldiers who have been deployed effectively in areas affected by serious conflict and terrorism such as Afghanistan and Iraq. It is not yet clear how many Marines will be deployed to Nigeria as part of the current operation or if they will establish a base in Borno State.

Tunde Bakare says give Chad, Niger & Cameroon 10 days to produce girls or face war

FORMER vice presidential candidate and Save Nigeria Group convener Pastor Tunde Bakare has urged President Goodluck Jonathan to threaten war with Cameroon, Chad and Niger if they do not produce the 234 girls abducted from Borno State within 10 days.

On April 14, 234 pupils were abducted by Boko Haram terrorists from Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok in Borno State. They have since been taken to unknown locations amid rumours that some of the girls have been ferried across Nigeria's border to neighbouring countries where they have been married off to Boko Haram fighters.

With rumours rife that some of the girls have not only been forced into marriages but repeatedly raped, Pastor Bakare has told President Jonathan to hold Nigeria's neighbours responsible for their plight. Speaking during a service at his Latter Rain Assembly church in Lagos, Pastor Bakare said the government needs to take action in the light of reports, which indicated that the missing girls had been taken across the Nigerian border.

Pastor Bakare added: “I want to see the president of our country sending ambassadors of peace and war to Chad, to Cameroon, to Niger Republic, to say that this is the report we are hearing. Our borders are porous and now our children are abducted and we understand they are in your territory

What do you make of this,Good advice?
